Moving Through the Retrogrades and Astrology Forecast April 2-8

Leo Knighton Tallarico

Last week we moved forward after the Aries New Moon.  That New Moon signaled to us the reality that it is time to move on.

The old era or chapter of our lives wants to be in our life’s rear view mirror.  On a deep energetic level we have moved on and moved forward.

But for some there are still issues to be healed or resolved.

And with Venus still Retrograde, the direction of certain of our relationships may not be totally clear yet.

And to add some more confusion, next week Sunday April 8 Mercury will join Venus in Retrograde.

Retrograde means things we need to pause before we can know what to believe or what to do.   During Retrograde, so many “re’s” are activated:  Re-flect, re-wind, re-turn, re-negotiate, re-do, etc.

So with both planets going retro, we will have much more ability to be reflective and to rewind into our past.

What makes it all complicated is that the New Moon in Aries, as we stated, is driving us to move on and move forward.

And energetically it has happened. In many ways we have gone over the hump to the other side.  No more fence sitting.

But we still need more clarity and direction around some issues before we are ready to completely move forward into this new chapter of our lives.

Venus retrograde suggests we may have relationship issues to heal or be resolved or at least to be seriously recognized as real and needing work.

Venus is not only about relationships but also about heart values,  security values, body issues, and real estate issues.

Venus is the ruling planet for both Libra and Taurus.  So any of those Venus issues can be in the spotlight of our lives now.    Going back in our minds to old ways of relating to security or body issues may also be happening for us during Venus Retrograde.

For women Venus Retrograde can also be about being a woman and what kind of woman one wants to be.  In its current retrograde pattern, Venus began the retrograde in Aries, suggesting needs to be empowered, true to self, and assertive as a woman.

Men may be experiencing their closest female mates as aserting their power more now. And their own “inner female” may need to be activated now.

Venus Retrograde moves into Pisces late on Sunday April 2, so issues around being giving, being other worldly, being surrendered and more mystical take hold.

So balancing the giving surrendered urge (Pisces) with the urge to be emboldened and empowered (Aries) may be challenging as a result of these planetary movements.

After April 15, when Venus goes back direct again, these issues should get more clarity and be ready to move forward with the other parts of us.

Relationships and communication are needing the most attention during the retrograde periods.

So Venus and Mercury will both be retrograde from April 8- 15.   There may be more confusion than usual around thinking, relating, and communicating then.

There will be more clarity after April 15 when Venus goes direct, then even more clarity aftter Mercury goes back Direct on May 3.

So we pause in some ways from totally moving forward till after that time.

So as we nevertheless continue to move forward now,  since the Aries New Moon, we actually pick up some speed as we go into the second quarter of the lunar cycle this coming week.

We continue moving forward in the waxing half of the Aries New Moon lunar cycle until April 10 at the Full Moon in Libra. Then the waning downward half of the cycle takes over.

So this week we continue moving forward in our new chapter, even while we still heal and resolve some issues during retrograde time.

And this week also brings Saturn going Retrograde on April 5/6.  When Saturn slows down to stop and turn retrograde, its meaning and energy get more priority in our lives.

Saturn is a contracting and limiting energy.  It gets us to stop and be more grounded, to wait and be more cautious, to set goals, to discipline, plan, and accomplish.

It also gets us to have more boundaries, to say no, to take responsibility, to do what we must do.

And it also rules endings and commitments too. Remember Saturn is about what we are limited in doing. Both endings and commitments give strict limits.

So this week is a good week to face up to what is real for you now.  Reality needs to be recognized and honored.  Acceptance is a key to this week.

Though some Venus and Mercury relationship and security issues of many kinds may need to be worked out, in most ways the “writing is on the walls” for what is real for you now.

And the Trump administration is real now in all our lives. That is not going to change any time soon.

Where we still have options is in how we relate to that reality.  How do we want to respond to that reality?  What values will we fight for as a result of that reality.

How will we handle our security issues and our issues of empowerment and self assertion?

How does this new reality affect our relationships? I have seen some families and friendships break apart because of the differences in political opinions.

Do we respect those who disagree with us enough to keep the glue of that relationship.

Or is the difference in core values too much to bridge to keep the relationship connected?

So you can see how a person can know they are in a new era of life, but still have some relationship issues to work out.

All people have personality or character traits that are diffcult for their partner.  So then we need to weigh which ones can be lived with and which ones cannot easily be tolerated.

And of course we need to dig deep inside to see if there is enough love to be able to live with someone who has these traits that are difficult to accept.

And yet some traits cannot be tolerated no matter how much love there is, no? How about physical or verbal abuse, or addiction? Should anyone put up with those traits even when  “in love”?

When we get into mid summer 2017, at the next Eclipse Season, which will be more powerful than the last, we will need many of our relationship and security issues to be resolved enough to be able to receive the awakening light, love and truth wanting to come through into our hearts and minds.

So now we clear up the blocks in our minds (Mercury) and hearts (Venus) during their retrograde periods, so we can better handle and let in those gifts later.

Till next week,

Leo

Being Sane at Times of Change and Astrology Forecast March 20-26

Posted in Uncategorized, Weekly WorldView and Astrology forecast with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on March 19, 2016 by spiritualtherapy

by Leo Knighton Tallarico

There is a plethora of important planetary movements this week.

This week could bring a turning point in one’s life, or a crossroads for some issue.

Most importantly there is a Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Aries/Libra Wednesday the 23rd at 8:01 AM EDT.

That same day Jupiter will square Saturn, as Saturn is slowing down as it changes directions to Retrogarde on March 25.  That makes Saturn especially strong.

As such there is a grounded pull downward, a focus toward “getting down to business”,  taking responsibility, organizing or disciplining oneself. The value of logic increases.

There could also be an important decision that needs to be made or a commitment to something important.

There may also be a feeling of fate, that something was meant to be.

The Lunar Eclipse will tend to shake things up out of same-old, same-old status quo, overly comfortable ways of living one’s life.   It is getting to be time to move on regardless if things have been figured out or not.

Since this is a Full Moon in Aries/Libra, there will be a focus on relationship.  That focus will include looking to find a balance between taking care of one’s own needs on the one hand; and taking care of the other person and the relationship on the other hand.

Have we previously focused too much on ourselves- or instead have we been overly accommmodating of the other person in relationship?

If you have been more caretaker than taking care of your own needs, then it is time to find a balance and take care of your self more.

If instead you have been overly focused on your self and not considering enough the other person, then it is time to listen to your friend or mate more.

Aries is about being true to oneself, which is a natural way to be.   Why would we not want to be true to our own authenticity and needs.

Libra is about listening and honoring someone else and the relationship.  It takes an attitude like that to keep a relationship healthy.

So where is the balance found?  Does one of you take care of themselves while the other person tends to the relationship?

It is time to work this out in different, more healthy ways

And Saturn helps to ground everything and to help you focus on committing to try hard to make it all work.

With Jupiter square a focal Saturn this week, it is no time to expand or fly high into anything.  Saturn is a sobering influence, so to speak, and it prevents one from being flighty or airy-fairy.

It is a good week to be real about whatever we think, say or do.

Relationships of all kinds are in the spotlight this week, so relationship between countries or world leaders could be strained and made to be quite real this week.

Saturn should stop anything from getting too out of control this week. Eclipses bring powerful and intense energies of change our way, energies that cause breakdowns of old ways and breakthroughs into new ways of thinking or being.

And that will be true with this week’s Eclipse too, but Saturn should keep you more  focused than at the last eclipse in Pisces.

In the greater world, issues that were previously unresolved or fuzzy or unknown will get clearer and known.

The presidential primaries should bring a more clear idea of who has won or lost.  Also fate may step in with serious repercussions, like if the email scandal for Clinton brings indictments; or if Trump or someone else has some scandal to deal with.

Communication will also be an important issue this week, as Mercury makes stromg aspects to the Sun and Mars on the 23rd and 24th.

Sun conjunct Mercury in Aries suggests we speak openly, with frankness, straight forward and direct.

But if too direct, without consideration for how a person will receive the information, there could be hurt feelings and defensiveness.

So say your piece but be sensitive to the people you are relating to.

This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse being in Aries/Libra also suggests a question of going to battle or making peace.  In Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Palestine, Iran, Iraq, and North and South Korea this war or peace Eclipse could play out.

In your own life, is it right to be confrontative or better to keep quiet for the sake of having peace.

Or better yet is there a way to state your truth with a velvet glove of soft words?

This week could clear the way so you can soon find direction, clarity, and answers.  But most importantly, this week is a turning point.

It will tend to help us from going over the same mental tapes over and over again without resolution.

As I believe Einstein said- paraphrased,”If you do things the same way over and over again always looking but never finding better results, you are insane”.

It is time to stop the knee jerk habit of repeating the same words or phrases or questions over and over again. We are having the same conversations but nothing ever changes.

If we truly want different more healthy results we need to have the courage to think and act outside the old boxes.  Take chances and get out of old patterns that are ready to die at this Lunar Eclipse New Moon.

There is a feeling of security or stability that keeps us doing the old familiiar ways over and over again.

Now is the opportunity to change while good old Saturn keeps things grounded and sane.

The world is changing so fast now, and we cannot keep alive old rotted patterns except to our detriment.   As the old world keeps trying to keep the old ways, it decays and falls apart-  And so do we, if in our personal lives we try to keep the old and tired ways alive on “life support systems”.

Till next week,

Leo

To Be or Not to Be and Astrology Forecast March 2-15

Posted in Weekly WorldView and Astrology forecast with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on March 1, 2014 by spiritualtherapy

by Leo Knighton Tallarico

It is transition time this week, as Mercury has just gone Direct; there is a New Moon in Pisces Saturday March 1 at 3 AM EST; Mars changes directions and goes Retrograde- also on March 1; Saturn goes Retrograde on March 2; and Jupiter goes Direct on Thursday March 6.

As planets change direction, either from Direct to Retrograde or from Retrograde to Direct; their meaning and energy have increased intensity and importance.

Add the New Moon in Pisces to these directional shifts, and there will be a feeling of new horizons to move toward, new consciousness to experience, and deeper feelings to explore.

A symbol of Pisces is two fishes going in opposite directions.  This is symbolic of navigating one’s soul consciousness waters and deciding which direction to move in- upstream or downstream, positive or negative.

Though the Pisces world is often rather nebulous, and hence it does not always know what it wants or what direction to go; most Pisces people do tend to be either glass half full or glass half empty people.

Sure the more positive Pisces can have periods of dark negativity, feelings of hurtful victimization; negative ways of escapism like drugs, alcohol, or disassociation, and not feeling up to the task of being in “reality”, they nevertheless always go back to their core of resilience, faith in life, and hope for better times.

The glass half empty Pisces has moments of hope and joy, but at their core they identify with being a victim and not up to the task of cold hard reality, as they see it.

Though both are dreamers and know inside themselves what a better humanity would look like, the half full Pisces believes we can one day create heaven on Earth, while the half empty Pisces down deep believes human life is painful and history will keep repeating itself.

So these next few weeks, with emphasis on this coming week as planets are changing directions and Pisces has its annual new moon event, it is time for each of us, no matter what sign, to decide if our personal glass of life is half full or half empty.

With the planets changing directions during this Pisces mutable month before spring, events and inner stirrings will draw you into deeper and changeable feelings and consciousness.

As we shift, is there hope in your heart or cynicism at your core?

Mercury going direct should help you to revive and think more clearly now.   Mars and Saturn changing directions at the same time this weekend may have you feeling both stop and go inside your self- desires to act and caution to hold back.  Best to not go to any extremes, not be impulsive, and just “let it pass”.

When Mars goes Retrograde, which it will do from March 1- May 19, it is a significant passage as it happens only once every other year.  While it is retrograde we are going deeper to decide what we truly want or desire and what direction we want to move toward.  We also may be dealing with issues of will, assertiveness, empowerment, and anger during that time

By mid week this week, however, as Jupiter goes Direct on Thursday March 6 (where it will stay until December) ; there should be feelings of renewal and perhaps an expansive outpouring of emotions.

Jupiter going Direct will sweep you into your inner tides of soulful feelings and emotions, and deeper into deciding “glass half full or half empty”?

This is important now to stay with, be present for, and find your way to deciding.  As winds of change will pick up appreciably after March 30 at the Aries Moon, a new moon that will push us over the edge into a most powerful Spring Eclipse Season 2014; it is time now over the next 4 weeks to build a more solid inner foundation.

This week especially your inner world may swirl back and forth, up and down like a ship on the ocean.  It is a great time to meditate, to go with your flow, and especially to watch your dreams, both waking and sleeping.   Put a journal next to your bed and record your dreams, looking for signs and symbols to reveal your inner truths.

The greater world also will be swirling and bouncing up and down with events, looking like it is not sure where it is going. The stock market should be up and down looking for direction; current hot spots like Syria, Iran, Ukraine, Thailand, Egypt, Israel, Afghanistan, Venezuela, and Korea may be swinging back and forth from dangerous to settled. Ukraine right now is especially important as old Cold War issues between Russia and the West are surfacing again, as they battle for control of that country.

As a culture we are needing to know what direction we are moving in on many issues.  Are we on the verge of giving a better living wage to workers or not?  Are we now going to commit our world to meeting the challenge of Climate Change on Earth?  Or better yet are we going to commit to healing our Earth and developing worldwide policies to clean the environment, and begin developing clean energy sources?

Have we turned the corner to believe our world and its people are of one family, with many varied members:  Diversity in Unity?  That belief will help us to eventually evolve to a new species, one that knows ONENESS, and knows all the dots of the Universe are connected and held up by the twin pillars of Love and Truth? Or are we going to have another world war, a war built on the cynical belief that all tribes of human are out for themselves, against all others for the wealth and power of the world?

How we see it will determine what will manifest.  Glass Half Full or Half Empty?

In your personal life the same issue is before you.  Have all your relationship “failures” brought you to believe you are undeserving and will never have healthy relationships, that all men or women are no good, that you have horrible luck or are jinxed?

Or do you believe each of your past relationships, whether family, friend or romantic, happened for a reason, was a learning experience, and deepened your soul awareness, your empathy and wisdom?

Of course we go back and forth sometimes in our emotions and beliefs, the pain so horrible we see only the pit of despair below.   But we can navigate those soul waters, with perhaps a little help from our friends, healers, therapists and counselors, to learn to see from a wider perspective, and to know we are evolving and progressing.

As we soon move into Spring Eclipse 2014 Season, where will your soul swimming take you?  What will your glass of life look like?

Or as Hamlet said, “To Be or Not To Be, That is the Question”.

I will be in Mexico on the ocean for vacation till March 10.  Not sure if I will write next Saturday or not.  If I do it will be shorter than usual.

The next full forecast will be at the Ides of March on March 15,  just before the Full Moon in Pisces/Virgo.

talk with you soon,

Leo

Getting it Together and Astrology Forecast for February 5-12

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , on February 4, 2012 by spiritualtherapy

by Leo Knighton Tallarico

A few weeks ago we wrote of a perfect storm brewing, one that would open a huge transformational doorway for us all in 2012.  That storm would likely be at its greatest intensity during the eclipse season this coming spring of 2012.   We let you know that a war with Iran and a big challenge with the economy would be in the center of the storm.

Well now the intensity around Iran is already beginning to build.  USA defense secretary Leon Panetta this week was quoted in the Washington Post as saying it was getting likely that Israel would attack Iran in April, May, or June. That is exactly within the eclipse season. Israel and Iran have this last week been sabre rattling with one another and the temperature for conflict has risen appreciably.

At the same time however, the outlook on the economy has gotten apparently brighter. Statistics say there are more jobs and the unemployment rate went down to 8.3 for January.  That is far below what had gone, not too long ago, to an over 10% unemployment rate.   It is still quite possible, however, for there to be big surprises, especially centered in Europe, to shake up our economic stability.

What is pertinent is that this coming eclipse season will shake up our world in a big way.  Events will ensue that will change all of our lives, and motivate us to accelerate our soul journeys of healing and transformation.  Plato is quoted as saying that “necessity is the mother of invention”, and our creative juices will be stimulated by the coming events that will surround us.

There is so much we need to do to alter the direction we have been moving in as a human family here on the Earth.   We need to bring our human condition and the Earth into greater wholeness, unity and health.   We need the world to be governed by love, truth, fairness, compassion, and justice.  We need to give higher priority and recognition to heart and soul values, to teach our children about how all of life is connected, sacred and meaningful.  Our Earth needs not to be so used for human greed and selfishness, and more to be honored and to be in loving relationship with.

All of these changes need to be made as a foundation for our building a world aligned with the Aquarian Age.

Perhaps this war can averted as collective humanity and its leaders wake up to recognize we need to make community with one another instead of dominating one another.   Perhaps we can avoid an economic crash, and begin to transform the world by realizing an economic system needs to serve all the people, not just the ones who can play Monopoly well.

Perhaps there will be divine intervention to help us, or perhaps our prayers can have a powerful effect to change the direction we seem to be moving in. But right now the storm looks like it is coming in as expected.

I do feel, no matter which way the wind blows this spring equinox season, we are being primed now in this winter  season to be ready to move powerfully forward come spring and all through the rest of 2012.

Our consciousnesses and bodies and lives have shifted over the last few months, getting us ready for the challenges just ahead of us.  As we passed Imbolc this last week, we look more toward the light now, and let go of the fears that have seeped in over the winter.   Those fears have brought some dark nights for some, but it is time to begin to let them go now, to release them another level.

This week we move up toward a Full Moon in Leo on Tuesday February 7th, at 4:54 PM EST.   This Full Moon highlights personal needs for creative expression and attention (Leo), and needs to connect to a greater social community or social consciousness (Aquarius).      Leo is central authority and Aquarius is decentralized networks like the internet.  Leo is heart shining in royal pride and Aquarius is equality in diversity.     Leo is the sun’s shine of smiling warmth and energy, and Aquarius is the human need for liberty of the individual to be self actualized.

Also this week on the 7th/8th Venus leaves Pisces and goes into Aries.    Venus is the relationship planet, and in Pisces she leans toward selflessness, empathy and compassion. After moving into Aries, we need to be more empowered in relationship, more true to our self. It is time to assert your self and speak frankly your truth. If you have been extra lenient or permissive with people during Venus in Pisces, after the 7th it is time to be more bold and not let people take advantage of your good nature. Venus will stay in Aries until March 5.

Also on February 7, there is an important energetic shift, as Saturn stops and goes retrograde. Whenever a planet changes directions its energy and meaning permeates our psyches and lives.

Saturn is the hand of time, letting us know our choices are narrowing. It is time to be definite, to be responsible, to be more self disciplined. It is time to stop procrastinating and to “get it together”.

For some Saturn feels like a “downer”, serious and sober. It is a stern teacher, making us learn our lessons; it is karma telling us we will now reap what we have sown.

For others Saturn feels very grounding and safe from scattered or chaotic or over emotional energies. It is clear boundaries, organization, and accomplishment.

Saturn may feel heavy or difficult now, like something we cannot avoid, or the hand of fate. But it is meant to get us to pay attention to what is needed now.

Thus early this week is an energetic shift, with Full Moon, Venus going into Aries and Saturn changing directions. Together they tell us to shift into more outward attention, more concentration on making our lives work better.  Even if we haven’t found resolution to what has been bothering us, we still need to get into gear.

See you next week,

Leo

Saturn not a Demon and Astrology Forecast for January 23-29.

Posted in Weekly WorldView and Astrology forecast with tags , , , , , , , on January 22, 2011 by spiritualtherapy

by Leo Knighton Tallarico

We have entered the last two weeks of the lunar cycle begun at the Solar Eclipse New Moon in Capricorn on January 4.   The Lunar Eclipse Full Moon was on the Winter Solstice on December 21 2010.   This current eclipse season, an especially powerful one, is slowly coming to an end.

People have been taken out of their “normal” rhythms and patterns and have been dealing with issues in a most intense manner, in many cases.    Now for many clarity, direction, and resolution are apparently beginning to form.   The week ahead may bring a challenge to that newfound definition for some. For others it may bring a feeling of finality or limitation that may be difficult to handle.

The last quarter Moon, in Scorpio, is on Wednesday January 26.  It intiates the last week of the lunar cycle begun at the Solar Eclipse New Moon on January 4.   Saturn changes direction and goes retrograde on January 26 also. It is time to “get down”, and deal with issues that one cannot avoid anymore.

Whenever a planet changes directions, from Direct to Retrograde or from Retrograde to Direct, it slows down and its “energy” permeates the energy field.

Saturn is serious and prompts us to “get down to business”.    It alerts us to the fact that sometimes we have no choices.  Sometimes it feels like fate or merely that “it is time”.    Saturn was also called Kronos, which brought us the word chronological.  Saturn makes everything seem more real and sometimes heavy or grave, as it rules gravity.   We get more in touch with our duties and responsibilities.

At its best it helps us to feel grounded, to get more disciplined and ordered.  It helps us to take responsibility for our self and our life.  It helps us to create better boundaries and to limit our emotions if they are out of control.

So this week ahead is a turning point on these type of issues.  There will be more of a sense of definitiveness, of doing what needs to be done because it is time.

Saturn also rules Karma, which has a bad name for some.   Actually karma (and Saturn) is also about reward for a job well done.  It is about reaping what one has sown, whether good or bad. Many people have good experiences with Saturn for this reason.

Many “free spirits” tend to run away from Saturn because they cannot take its firm hand of limitation. Saturn is the rules and regulations of life that can feel like a limiting of heart and creativity.  It feels like death to them or imprisonment.    But Saturn is an important tool for all of us.   It helps us to build and accomplish and be successful.     If a free spirit learns to harness their wildness, they can meet their dreams.   Saturn tells us what the “real world” is like, whether we like it or not.  This knowing of the real world and its rules, fair or not, can help us to do what is needed to make those dreams come true.

Of course as we move now more fully into an Aquarian Age, the rules are changing and during the transition we have more ability to choose and create.   But Saturn will not die or be abolished. We will always need to work within certain parameters, always need to have certain boundaries and rules to live by.  Even as we merge more into Oneness, we need to develop an integrity and individual definition, and respect for others’ boundaries.

So use this coming week to make better friends with Saturn.   Saturn is not another way of saying Satan.  It is not our demon.  As you make friends with it, it will help you to build what you envision and give you the discipline and order to do so.

Expansive Jupiter is also important this week, as it leaves oceanic and soulful Pisces for straightforward and direct Aries. Jupiter in Aries suggests it is time to move forward, to assert your self, to empower your self, to ignite new fires inside your self, to get ready for new ventures and greater action in your life.

But with Saturn so strong this week, and while we are still in winter here in the northern hemisphere, for most it is time to merely rev up your engine with new ideas for the future, but to hold off on pushing them forward.   Saturn, however, can help you to make a plan, in some cases a long term plan and ways to organize and implement those plans.  After Uranus also goes into Aries in mid March, the energies of action and change will get even stronger.

In the greater world this week, as Jupiter goes into Aries and Saturn changes directions, while we are still in the last vestiges of our current “eclipse season”, watch the news closely.

In so doing you may get a better sense of what is collectively coming our way.    Watch especially the economic news as Saturn going retrograde may show us what is “fated”.

The Middle East is heating up to a boiling point now. Watch especially what happens in Lebanon, as it is in conflict now between having allegiance to Iran and Syria or having allegiance to the western world.   Events may be close to erupting there.

And talks between Iran and the world powers broke down this week, with no agreements. It is looking more and more like there is an inevitable clash ahead between Iran and its allies and the western world and Israel.  This conflict, when it breaks out, will start all the dominoes in the world to fall.  The transition between Ages will intensify.  Gates will open up and chaotic creativity will pour through.

Revolutionary energies gained more strength ths week as Tunisian people overthrew their oppressive goverment, and Algerian people are now protesting to gain more freedoms in their country.

Saturn’s turning and Jupiter moving into Aries this week will show more evidence of what is to come.

The winter has more suprises in store for us, as the Lunar Eclipse on the Winter Solstice of 2010 gave us a signature of a most intense and changeable winter season.   Expect the unexpected and for more big world events on the way.

See you next week,

The second of two eclipses in a row happens this week, on Friday January 15 at 2:11 AM on the USA east coast.  On the west coast the eclipse falls on January 14 at 11:11 PM.    The Capricorn/Cancer Full Moon Lunar Eclipse from New Year’s Eve Day 2009 and this week’s Solar Eclipse New Moon in Capricorn bring a common theme:   Security issues.

Cancer and Capricorn both are connected to security and stability.  They are the archetypal “Mom and Dad” energies, although in the contemporary world, those gender roles are mixed.

Cancer provides inner security through nurturing, care, and unconditional acceptance.    Capricorn provides outer security by meeting the demands of the world through accomplishment, work, planning and discipline.  Cancer builds safety through making a comfortable and nourishing home base.  Capricorn gives safety through building success in the world and gaining the rewards of money, etc. that provide security.

In the mainstream world the eclipses have brought with them the recent failed terrorist attacks, which have shaken many people’s sense of inner and outer security.    New scanners are being put in airports around the world.  Governments are contemplating more such  moves toward greater security.  The cable news shows talk incessantly now about the CIA and its failures, Homeland Security and its failures, the President and his failures.  Many are getting freaked out about the recent incidents, especially the Christmas Day bombing attempt near Detroit.

These concerns now about our safety and security are deeper and broader than just the recent eclipses.  Pluto’s recent movement into Capricorn a couple years ago, which will last for 15 years, is about transforming the structures and institutions of our world.  Since this is within the broader context of an Aquarian Age and 2012, we can expect massive changes to our way of life, our economy, and our relations with the rest of the world over the next several years.

The last few weeks, which have been under the influence of the eclipses, have brought increased feelings of insecurity for many.  Many ar enow less sure about the direction of their life.   Jobs, money, relationships seem less stable and reliable.

Perhaps it is time to let go more of our attachments, addictions, co-dependencies, and that which we are clinging too hard to.   It is time to liberate our minds, hearts, and souls.  It is time to recapture our free spirits, no matter what age we are.   For those of you beyond your teens and ’20s, you know how easy it is to get so much into security and safety and material concerns.   It is easy to get bogged down into every day” same-old, same-old”, and lose your flexibility for change.

But change is coming, it accelerates in 2010, and it will behoove each of us to let go, to release what is ready to be released, and to move on to a new phase of our lives.

The Solar Eclipse New Moon in Capricorn this Friday January 14/15 will get us moving forward again.    For many direction will get more clear this week or next as Mercury goes direct on January 15, adding to the forward direction of the New Moon that day.  But for some pieces of the puzzle will be left to solve in regards to our overall life direction and desires for our future as Mars will still be Retrograde until March 10.

But for now, with the Solar Eclipse New Moon, and Mercury going direct this week, we will have some forward movement and greater clarity.    The fog of our life path will begin to clear.  Remember that at eclipses energies and emotions intensify, and we usually get taken out of our normal balance.

Since this New Moon Eclipse is in Capricorn, we get more of a sense, however, of “getting our life together”.   We start to make plans, or life brings us seemingly fated events that show us what we must let go of, and what direction we need to now take.

If you have your Sun in Capricorn, especially if you are born in mid January you are most affected by this eclipse.   If you were born with Sun in Cancer, and were born in mid July you are most affected by this eclipse.    In fact if you have any planets in the middle degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn you are very affected by this eclipse.     You will have more of a tendency to have your security issues challenged and opened for change.

This coming week, the week of January 10 through January 16, life may feel more serious.   This is especially so from mid week through the end of the week.

This is so because Saturn, the planet that “rules” Capricorn, slows down and changes directions on Wednesday the 13th, less than two days before the Capricorn New Moon Eclipse.   It is time to get down to business, to do what needs to be done, to work hard and more efficiently.

Saturn is Old Man Time, a reminder that life is limited by the passing of time on this Earth plane of existence.  Things end and die, time marches on.  We sometimes need to let go of people, jobs, old times of our life.   Saying goodbye is always difficult.    But new horizons await us, always one season of life passes into another season of life.

And of course Thursday/Friday is the New Moon in Capricorn.  It is a turning point time of life.  Everything may not be totally clear and laid out yet, but a shift is happening.  And it is a powerful shift, with all implications not known until several months ahead.

In the greater mainstream world, the USA is having military/economic concerns heat up again.   The power of the USA is being asserted and/or challenged now.     In 1991, on January 15, just like now in 2010, there was a powerful Solar Eclipse New Moon in Capricorn at the exact same 25 degrees.  That is near the USA Pluto in its natal chart’s second house.  On that day in 1991 Iraq and Saddam Hussein were attacked by the USA and its allies.  That community of nations that gathered together for the attack were called the New World Order.   This was mainly a combination of western world allies, Europe and the USA.

I do not expect such a dramatic force of attack again this time as the aspects to this eclipse are not the same as last time. In 1991 Saturn was conjunct the Eclipse, which brought more of fated grave energy to the formation.     But issues related to the military/industrial empire of western nations, led by the USA, will again be in the spotlight.   What are the threats to this Empire now?  It is from a difficult economy, Al Queda, Iran and North Korea, Yemen, Palestine, and potentially Pakistan.

If you saw the movie Avatar, you know they were referencing this global corporate, military empire of the USA and New World Order as the “bad guys” destroying the natural and spiritual world of the Na’vi native peoples.

This movie is a consciouness raising movie for mainstream America and the world, and lets us know we are moving toward a world beyond Empires that rule all our lives and the natural world and Earth environment.

We are on the cusp of great change, and 2010 will open up and clear the path for greater progress into this New World.
