As we shift today January 19 2013, from Sun in Capricorn to Sun in Aquarius, the pressure to fit, or fit in, or be fit, or do anything as it “should” be done morphs into “do your own thing”.

Capricorn, ruled by Saturn, holds us tightly in its grasp, so we will stay long enough to learn our lesson, make our plans,  accomplish something, or to build what we need to build.

When Aquarius comes on, we realize that a tight reign on our lives has forced us to be what we need to be in order to get the job done; but we have sacrificed our authentic individualized self in the process.

Capricorn teaches us that there are rules, societal mandates, religious commandments, and authority figures to dictate our lives.  Aquarius shows us that we individual humans, each of us true to our own distinctive authentic self, can together develop a human community based on socially conscious higher ideals.

Uranus, the “ruling” planet of Aquarius, was discovered in 1781, around the time of the American and French revolutions.   “As above, so below”, a spiritual principle that astrology resonates with, shows us the meaning of Uranus from when it was discovered.

Liberty, freedom from rulers, and power to the people is Uranian and Aquarian.   We individual humans being responsible for our own world, is a guiding light of Aquarius.  It is equality and self determination. It is Diversity in Unity.  It is a large part of our American heritage, and of course the USA has in its natal chart from July 4, 1776, a Moon in Aquarius.  The Moon is the light of our inner soul values, and the American inner soul values are very attuned with the Aquarian Age we are moving into.

But now our Superpower American Empire is out of tune with equality for all, with liberation and self determination for all, with worldwide Diversity in Unity. Much transformation of our country will happen over the next year and a half.

We are now in the middle of a dark night of our American soul, as we are being split in two, in a kind of cultural civil war.  It is in part “red state” values versus “blue state” values.    And the Civil War in 1861-1865, when Lincoln was president, was split in similar geographic ways, though many of our western states were still not incorporated.

There are many issues at stake in this cultural conflict, but the one that is most in the spotlight now is the rights of gun owners.

This issue is heating up, and there is much anger being shown by those who want few or no changes to our current gun laws.  President Obama is standing firm on the need to change the gun laws in a way that will make our country safer and less violent.

The NRA is standing stubbornly to not changing much, not even tighter rules for assault weapons.

The second amendment was instituted in large part because of a fear of tyrannical government dominating our lives, and citizens therefore needing to defend themselves. This is a Uranus type of principle, aligned with the Aquarian ideal of power to the people.   We have become, however, a country with a very violent culture of movies and video games, gangs, bullies, and desires to solve problems with force.   There needs to be compromise found to better our country.

Most advocates of new gun laws do not want to limit the rights of the second amendment, but rightfully are afraid that we have developed a very dangerous and violent America, and we need to make changes.

This is a most dangerous issue now in the United States, and President Obama is in a very precarious position as a result. Many gun rights advocates are extreme and some are even rather paranoid, believing President Obama is going to use the government to militarily take over our country and strip us of our freedoms.  This unfounded fear could cause some of them to rationalize violence and killing.

So, as we move into the time of year of Sun in Aquarius, we also on Monday move to the second Inauguration Date for President Obama.   This also is Martin Luther King’s celebrated birthday.

President Obama will be using martyred Lincoln’s bible to be sworn in with, on Martin Luther King Day, an acknowledgement of another martyr for better values in our country and world.  He will also be adding a bible belonging to Martin Luther King Jr.for his swearing in for the Inauguration.

Prayers for our president are much needed now, as our collective need for martyrs needs to die along with the Pisces Age.  I believe we are capable of evolving our collective consciousness enough to stop the trend for another assassination.  Autumn 2013 is the most dangerous time period in this regard.

As far as this coming week goes, as we enter Sun in Aquarius time, and move one third through winter here in the Northern Hemisphere, we each look to honor our distinctive authentic selves, but also look to find “birds of a feather” shared values in groups and community.

Internet activity, and especially social network sites like Facebook, are Aquarian by nature.   These new found freedoms of information and human connection must be protected against those who seek to control, like nations and governments.

Use this Aquarian time of year to break away from that which keeps you locked up from your true self and free mind.  Open to places and people who have social values that you resonate with. And use this Aquarian time to do what you want to do, even if others see these actions as weird.  You can better find your individual genius now, if you are willing to be different.

Late next Saturday January 26 is a Full Moon in Aquarius/Leo that we will talk more about next Saturday. It is at 11:38 PM EST.

Also please keep in mind that the Saturn sextile Pluto aspect is still in effect, as it has been over the last month or so.  So there is a kind of dark cloud hovering over our consciousness.  And it seeks to bring us down into cold reality, away from illusions and into deeper truths that will set us free.

We are getting closer to a most powerful Spring Eclipse Season, which will start in April with the first of three eclipses, one more than usual.   Uranus square Pluto will have its next exact meeting in the spring also.

Actually, in March is when energies will already be intensifying, so use this time now to center your self, and clean up old issues.

I have created a new Astrology Forecast 2013 for youtube, part 1.  And Part 2

Honoring the Winter Solstice and Astrology Forecast for December 18-24

by Leo Knighton Tallarico

We have moved through two powerful and meaningful eclipses while Mercury was retrograde.  The intensity has lessened and we have turned a corner, but we are still in the Eclipse Season for a little while longer, until perhaps the New Moon in Capricorn on Christmas Eve December 24.

For now as we slowly release the pressures and emotions from that frequency that held our attention, we move down into the Winter Solstice this week.

Running around frantically shopping and partying is not in alignment with the coming  Solstice.  It is true that until the Winter Solstice we are still in Sun in Sagittarius time, so there is fire energy at our disposal.  But we are moving toward a solemn and sacred turning point of the year this week: The Winter Solstice.  It synchronizes appropriately with the true meanings of Christmas, which is deeply soulful, yet promising hope for our human family.

The Winter Solstice is a time of greatest darkness of the year, but is the turning point for a return to the light.    There are more dark minutes of the day at the Winter Solstice, but after its passing each day is lighter until the Summer Solstice, which has the most light in a day.

So if you are feeling sadness or grief or being drawn down emotionally, you are in alignment with the yin movement now.

It is wise now to find time to be alone, to find your inner compass, to contemplate, to reflect.    Running around and being manic is all too often what people do at this time of the year, and it pushes us out of the sacred space necessary now.

Of course we need to prepare for Holiday meals and family get-togethers, but if we can stay present with the natural tone of this time of year, we will appreciate the season.   Gratitude is more natural as we face the darkness, as we recognize that life can sometimes be diffcult or painful. We appreciate more than ever the people who we love and who love us.

The actual Winter Solstice is this coming Thursday December 22 at 12:30 AM here on the east coast USA. In the rest of this country the solstice is on Wednesday December 21.

The Winter Solstice brings the Sun into Capricorn for the coming month.    Cancer is the opposite of Capricorn and happens for the first month of summer. It brings with it the abundance of nature and Sun and light. Capricorn teaches us that we must do what we have to do, even if it is not in the flow of nature.   The resolutions of New Year happen during Capricorn time of year, and it is then we often decide to do things we do not feel like doing. We instead choose to do things we need to do or should do.  We know we need to discipline ourselves more and that it is time to “get it together”

Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, which is like Father Time. Time is what gives us limits.  It tells us we need to do things before we run out of time. It tells us we age and that we only have so much time. So Capricorn can definitely feel like a “downer”, but if used properly brings us accomplishment and success. It helps us to plan and organize, and build.   Though it can feel confining to free spirits, abiding by its lessons can bring a feeeling of groundedness and security.

We are getting closer now to ending 2011.  In the greater world there was liberating change with the Arab Spring,  the OWS movement, and Wikileaks.  There were the painful challenges of the Earthquake in Japan with its nuclear reactor tragedy, and the continued suffering for so many with a weakened economy.

2012 will bring us even more greater change.  Its highlight astrologically will be the square of Uranus and Pluto, which will last for a few years.  Their first exact pass will be during the next Eclipse Season in May/June 2012. That promises to be a time of enormous change.

The last time Uranus and Pluto made an important aspect with one another was in 1965/66 when they were c0njunct in Virgo.  This conjunction brought in the ’60s era.    It was a time of Revolution and consciousness Evolution.  Life as knew it would never be the same.    Our old paradigm for living was thrown into upheaval and we were flooded with waves of new consciousness and ways of living for humanity on the Earth.  People began to sing about the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius.

And now 46 years later, as we meet Uranus and Pluto again, we are closer than ever to realizing the Age of Aquarius, in my estimation opening up at the end of 2020. The amount of change we now need to release the old paradigm and age is enormous.  The degree of new waves of consciousness coming in is greater than ever. 2012 promises to be a roller coaster ride of transformation and healing.   And the world as we know it, will be getting dimmer and dimmer in our rear view mirrors.

For now, however, allow yourself to be present for the passage of the Winter Solstice and the holidays.

Lunar Eclipse Full Moon and Astrology Forecast for July 5-July 11

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 4, 2009 by spiritualtherapy

The week ahead brings us our first of three eclipses, on Tuesday July 7 at 5:21 AM EDT.    It is a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse.   A Lunar Eclipse can only happen at a Full Moon, whereas a Solar Eclipse can only happen at a New Moon.

A Full Moon happens when the Moon is exactly opposite the Sun.   At a Lunar Eclipse, the Earth is exactly between the opposition of the Sun and Moon, effectively blocking the Sun’s light from the Moon.

For this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse the Sun is at 15+ degrees of Cancer and the Moon is at 15+ degrees of Capricorn.

This is only a partial eclipse and will be barely visible even to those who are in its path.    The next Eclipse, a solar one on July 21 will be a total eclipse and visible to some parts of the world.  We will tell you more as we get closer to that one.

Eclipses come at times when events are shaking things up.   The time period of most intensity from these three eclipses is from mid June to Mid September.   The actual eclipses occur on July 7- a partial lunar eclipse, on July 21- a total Solar Eclipse, and on August 5- another partial Lunar Eclipse.  The fallout from the eclipses can last years.

The last time there were three eclipses in a row was in the summer of 2000, nine years ago.  It was that summer when the world got the closest it ever has to making a lasting agreement between Israel and the Palestinians, seeking to give the Palestinians a state of their own.

The 3 eclipses were in July, and on July 9 the Israeli government of Ehud Barak failed because the rightist parties left the government because of concessions that were being made to the Palestinians.

On July 25 the talks completely broke down, foiling President Clinton’s strong intention to make lasting peace in the Middle East before he left office.  Two months later the Palestinian Intifada began, creating a war-like atmosphere between Israel and Palestine, from which they have not recovered.

At the end of July George Bush was nominated president and named Dick Cheney as his running mate.

These events, happening during the 3 eclipse period of 2000, set the stage for the tragedy of 9-11 a year later.  Osama Bin Laden has often referred to the injustice perpetrated against the Palestinians as a primary cause of Al Qaeda’s rage against Israel, America, and western nations.

George Bush’s presidency quite arguably changed America and its image in the world in enormous ways.

So as we come to our first of 3 eclipses in the summer of 2009, probably the weakest of the three, we face many challenges that have come our way during the eclipse period of Mid June to mid September.

North Korea used the USA birthday of July 4 to set off 7 missile tests across the pacific ocean.  This was an obvious message.

Iran has arrested British employees of its embassy in Tehran, has effectively stopped the insurgency against the government, and has threatened with imprisonment Mousavi, who challenged the accuracy of the election of Ahmadinejad.

I also expect events to intensify greatly concerning Pakistan, especially toward the third eclipse.

I expect Peru to have greater protests against government attempts to use resources and oil in indiginous areas of Peru, including the rain forest.

I also expect the Iranian, Israeli and North Korea situations to intensify and become more clear what direction we are moving in with them.

We could see war between Israel and Iran, with the USA involved, before year’s end.  We could see more serious threats between North Korea and Japan develop.

And more clear signs of the direction of the economy can develop before the eclipse period is over, letting us know if we have reached bottom of the recession or if we are in for another Great Depression.  After the second eclipse we will know more.

In our personal lives it is time to say goodbyes and to allow our lives and consciousness to go through greater transformation on the way to an Aquarian Age.  If you have planets from you natal chart that are closely influenced by the eclipse positions, you will be greatly affected.  If you are now having your life shook up, you are quite possibly one of those people.

Astrology Forecast for July 5-July 11

This is a very eventful week, including a Lunar Eclipse and Jupiter conjunct Neptune in Aquarius.

The week begins on July 5 with Goddess of Love Venus leaving soft and sensuous Taurus for lively and sociable Gemini. Go out and have a good time with friends now and for the next month as Venus remains in Gemini approximately that long.  The Moon is in Sagittarius till late that night, again making it conducive for high spirits and a good time, even with the intensity of the eclipse getting stronger.

Things feel more glum and serious on Monday the 6th of July as the Moon is now in Capricorn.  On Monday into early Tuesday, Mars squares Neptune and Jupiter and sextiles Uranus.   There is lot of action and movement today as we move into the Lunar Eclipse at 5:21 AM Tuesday morning.

Family and domestic pressures are up against pressures from obligations and work.  You may have arguments over being lenient or strict with children or others, and have a challenge between doing what you feel like doing or being disciplined.   Emotional boundary issues may also be important to deal with now.

Remember eclipses are times when it is good to let go of what is ready to be released, and to let into your life what is right for you now.    Shake up times at eclipse points are times when we are assisted by the Universe to enter new phases of our lives.

Adding more energy to the eclipses is the second of three conjunctions in a row between Jupiter and Neptune.  This second conjunction happens on Friday the 10th.    Chiron also has been making conjunction with Jupiter and Neptune in Aquarius. It has been thousands of years since this has happened.

Since it is all happening in Aquarius as we are on the cusp of an Aquarian Age, Aquarian themes prevail.  It is time to think about equality of all peoples, of self determination, of liberty and freedom.   These all all values from the founding of America as the USA has its moon (inner values) in Aquarius.

Also now keep looking at the skies, as times of UFO and extraterrestrial viewings proliferate during Jupiter conjunctions with Neptune or Uranus in Aquarius.

As this conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune in Aquarius plays out you may experience more magic and synchronicities, more progress spiritually, more desire to be involved in socially conscious groups that have lofty ideals that inspire you.

I will write a new blog/forecast as usual next Saturday/Sunday.
