Venus has now gone back direct- after almost 6 weeks of being retrograde. More light is beginning to shine on our relationships, relationship issues and dynamics. The retrograde period, for many, showed us what we need to look at and work on in our relationships. People from our past came back in the flesh, or in our memories and dreams, to help us get greater perspective on our ongoing relationship patterns and challenges.
Some faced very intense and painful interactions in their relationships during the retrograde period, which brought back and up to the surface, the deep-seated challenges in the relationship. Some have let go of relationships they came to understand will not work for them anymore. Others now are more clear what to work on, but need more time to work on them. For some there has been deep heart healing, and true insights about how to make the relationship function better and more healthily.
What you have been working on with your mates, friends, and/or family members recently is part of a life-long journey of relationship. Unfortunately, our schools do not have classes in how to be in relationships, and only a fortunate few are given really good examples of healthy relationships in their lives, especially in their childhoods.
We mostly learn “by the seat of our pants”, by trial and error. And all too often we do not learn at all. We carry on dysfunctional relationship patterns “inherited” from our parents and other ancestors. We hand them down to our children. We bring them into our romantic relationships. Then we leave a relationship because we do not want to carry on those old and toxic patterns. We meet someone new, who does not seem to fit those old patterns. But before too long, the same old stuff comes back, like a bad dream.
Then during these Venus retrograde time periods, we sometimes get an opportunity to work with, heal, and transform the patterns. And though Venus has now gone direct, it has not gone full circle yet. Venus will go back to where it began to go retrograde on December 20. So whatever insights or breakthroughs have occurred during the retrograde period, we can now go further forward in the healing process. And in turn can work on better understanding the patterns and transforming them.
Transforming does not mean curing. We can work with our “negative” relationship tendencies, and let awareness of the patterns assist us in controlling the old “knee jerk” reactive responses. We can become more aware also of what is really going on for our mates and friends. We can let go of our projections on them, our seeing them as just like our mother or father or some old relationship of our past.
We can then see our mates more clearly, so we can have better empathy toward what they are thinking and feeling, how they have been wounded from their families and old relationships. We can then have more clear communication with our loved one, and hence more clearly express our needs and desires. We then become less defensive and take things less personally.
And of course Venus Retrograde is not the only opportunity we have to heal and transform relationship patterns. There are many planetary transits, which help us breakdown old relationship patterns, and bring healing and breakthroughs. So do not be afraid of a so-called difficult planetary transit, like one from Saturn or Pluto. These transits help us to end what is not working, and to find new ways.
Full Moon in Scorpio/Taurus
This Sunday November 20 is a Full Moon at 12:27 PM EST. Two fixed signs Taurus and Scorpio are involved, The Sun is in Scorpio and the Moon is in Taurus, which together makes a Full Moon. Opposing forces dig in and stop progress forward. Before one can move forward, one must work out some power and control issues. This is about relationship again. What is the best way to work out power struggles? Do you negotiate? Do you share power? Do you go to battle?
For some the control issues are internal. They need to let go of needing to control so much, and instead learn to let life unfold more, out of their constant control. For others this full moon is the dealing with difficult emotional issues and dramas, trying to find a calm and solid solution.
After December 5
Much will shift after the December 5 New Moon in Sagittarius at 12:36 PM EST. Uranus goes Direct later that day, and important events are ready to explode into our lives.
This new moon is especially important because it begins a lunar cycle that will lead into a very powerful Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius/Gemini on December 21, the same day as the Winter Solstice. This event will trigger the summer of 2010 planetary aspects, that were highlighted by the Cardinal T-Square alignment.
Between the New Moon in Sagittarius and the Full Moon Eclipse, there is a Mars transit of the same cardinal alignment. That transit is a trigger also, and big events may be touched off in the greater world and in our personal lives then. Mars will be triggering that cardinal alignment in the second week of December.
Potentially earth shaking events may happen then, and also through January and perhaps the winter season. This is because there also a New Moon Solar Eclipse on January 4, which is closely opposite the natal USA Sun from its birth chart of July 4, 1776. The Eclipse is at 13+ degrees of Capricorn and the USA Sun is at 13+ degrees of Cancer.
till next week,
