Autumn Turn of the Wheel and Astrology Forecast for September 20- October 3

I will be taking a break next week from this forecast and blog, as I will going on a short autumn vacation to enjoy the beautiful autumn foliage  and climate here in New England.   The current forecast, therefore, will be for the next 2 weeks.

Well by all measures, the summer will be over this week, as is the Summer of 2009 eclipses.  The passing  3 eclipse summer was a set up for more shifting tides coming this autumn and winter, and then even bigger changes coming spring and summer 2010.

For now we get to appreciate the Autumn Equinox, a time metaphorically equivalent to the sunset time of day.   Dark, night minutes of the day are equal to light, day minutes at the equinox, which is on Tuesday this week the 22nd at 5:19 PM EDT and 2:19 PM PDT.

But immediately after that equinox moment, we then see dark minutes of the day increase more every day until winter solstice, when dark minutes are at their zenith.  Winter Solstice is equivalent metaphorically to midnight.

But at Autumn Equinox, we feel the sunset of the year, a beautiful time that slows us down and begins to prompt us to reset our life priorities.    Inner and outer events help us to look beyond our sometimes frantic strivings,  and instead to look around at the people who mean a lot to us.

We are reminded of the transitory cycles of life, and how the passion and youth of summer passes so fast.  We know, even as we appreciate the beauty of early autumn, that the cold breath and darker days of winter are close behind.    We appreciate our friends and mates more than ever, and want to hold closer to our hearts that which we appreciate most in our lives.

This past summer of eclipses took so many important and iconic people from our lives.   Especially the people who were so well known to us, so famous around the world, so close to us in our younger days, died.

Walter Cronkite was the most respected and listened to newsman of his day.

Ted Kennedy was one of the most respected Senators in American history, and he also reminded us of the Kennedy mystique.    And of course his brother John Kennedy was president of USA and assassinated in 1963.  And his brother Robert was a great hope for change in America, and then he was assassinated in 1968 as the revolutionary ’60s intensified.   Martin Luther King had just been killed two months previous in April 1968.

And Michael Jackson also died in the summer of 2009. Michael was quite arguably one of the most well known entertainers of all time in America and the world.  And of course his life story was full of high drama,, from his beatings as child, to his strange appearance, to his idealistic creations to make the world a better place, to the accusations of pedophilia.

And many others who died were household names also, most notably Patrick Swayze and Farrah Fawcett.   And Les Paul was well known to guitar enthusiasts, and Robert Novak to political junkies, and Ed McMahon to so many people who watched the Johnny Carson show every late night.

Especially Baby Boomers have been affected, but many of the people who died influenced many more than that.

This summer showed us that times of the past are fading memories now, that we are sadly saying goodbye to old times, to old friends.

The coming autumn will let us know even more that the old days are gone.  We are quite likely to soon face up to the truth that our economy is not on the way back to normal.    The economic cheerleaders telling us the worst is over will be proven wrong. Events are coming our way that will soon let us know differently.

The Saturn/Pluto square in mid November and the 2 eclipses on December 31 2009 and January 15 2010 are messengers of darker days for our trusted old paradigm and its institutions.

We will need to keep our focus on the new world we are building.  It is a world where we learn more and more that all is connected, not separate.

And we all, all over the world are connected, not separate.    Especially since the 20th century began, we have been more and more reminded that we are all so connected.

We have built networks of commerce, and networks of transportation, and networks of communication and mind that link us all together as one.

We have also had two world wars that brought us together in destructiveness.  And these wars should be teaching us we can destroy one another and need to find ways to get along.

And relatively recently, the development of weapons of mass destruction show us we are on the edge of mass destruction if we do not learn ways to share this Earth and find peace in our hearts for one another.

And the global recession, soon to be Depression, should be teaching us we need to find an economic system that is not set up for the few who have wealth and privilege while so many others suffer.

As the changes accelerate and soon flood in, we are given the chance, at this changing of Ages, to find ways to make our human condition on Earth more livable and satisfying for all.

We are given the opportunity to see the common humanity in each and every one of us, and to create a better world, one of equality, liberty, fairness and justice for all.

As the darker times for a dying world roll in  for 2010, many of us will instead be focusing on the light of a new world being born.

Astrology Forecast for September 20- October 3

On Sunday the 20th of September the Moon in Libra brings waves of Autumn energies in , as Libra is the sign of the beginning of Autumn.  But official Autumn does not yet begin for a couple days yet.

Also on Sunday Venus leaves showy Leo for demure Virgo.  Heart energies soften and sensitize, and relationships begin to get back to the basic truths.    Venus stays in Virgo until October 14.

Emotions intensify on Monday as the Moon moves into passionate Scorpio.   And on Tuesday is one of the 4 sacred turning points of the year.

The Sun moves into Libra to open the gates to our Autumn Equinox.  It is fall season now, as the leaves of our trees begin to turn color, as hair begins to turn gray in the autumn of our human years.   It is time to take concentration from self and our own needs alone, and turn to thoughts of our mates, our friends, and community.   We leave other more selfish concerns to think of some of our social principles like fairness and justice.

Autumn is arguably the most lovely of all seasons, and peace and grace feel as if they are in the air.

On Wednesday, as the moon goes into Sagittarius ad the Sun squares Pluto, we feel more enthusiasm for life. The Moon stays in Sagittarius through Friday.  On Saturday is the second quarter Moon in Capricorn, with our Moon a half- lit Moon in the sky.   We are half way to a Full Moon and we pause to make sure we are on the right track in our lives.

The Moon stays in Capricorn on Sunday and opposes Mars in Cancer.  This day is susceptible to arguments if we are not careful.

Mercury is now slowing down as it is about to go Direct again after 3 weeks of being retrograde.   It actually goes direct on Tuesday the 29th, and any strangeness you have been feeling should begin to be lifting.  Clarity wants to form, but full clarity is about a week away.

On Thursday and Friday, with the Moon in Pisces, we lay back and begin to surrender to the approaching Full Moon.

The Full Moon in Libra/Aries is on Saturday/Sunday the 3rd/4th of October. It is at 11:10 PM the 3rd on the USA west coast, and 2:10 AM the 4th on the east coast.   This Full Moon usually brings up relationship issues that can be understood in the context of independence versus togetherness.    Making a balance between these two extremes can be done now, but perhaps only after discussion or argument.

See you in two weeks,

Powerful Changes and Astrology Forecast for September 13-19

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , on September 12, 2009 by spiritualtherapy

President Obama turned a lot of people around with his speech on Health Care Reform last week.   One of the main ingredients in Mercury Retrograde, as you read last week in this blog, is changing of mental perceptions.

Mercury went Retrograde on Monday and his speech was on Wednesday night.   Prior to the speech there was a lot of misinformation about Obama’s Health Care proposals.    A majority of Americans were against the proposals and in fact many were quite angry.  There were distortions presented by Main Stream Media and politicians, like about death panels for elderly Americans.

There were angry town hall meetings spreading more falsehoods.   There were talk show hosts spouting about communism and socialism and other distorted opinions about Obama and health care reform.

After the speech, which happened so shortly after Mercury went retrograde, people saw the health care reform proposals in a new light.   This new light was based on Obama for the first time being clear about what he wanted and what was in the proposals.

So perceptions changed.

Mercury Retrograde is always spoken about in such negative, superstitious ways.   And yes sometimes times it does feel like a nightmare.  And yes sometimes it does feel like nothing works and everything is going wrong.

But the gist of Mercury Retrograde is getting out of mental boxes and closed paradigms and seeing things in new ways.  And sometimes it takes more drastic means to break open the closed boxes of thought.

Well, Mercury will stay retrograde until September 29, so the changing mental winds will continue this week and next.

There is an important aspect this coming week:   Saturn opposite Uranus.   Saturn and Uranus began their current cyclical dance with one another when they made conjunction in 1987-88.  Saturn represents status quo, stability, form and structure, and certitude.

Uranus represents awakenings, breakthroughs, and radical change.  Saturn is what has been built and keeping it that way.  Uranus is breaking down barriers, liberation, revolution, and new ways.    When they oppose one another, the old ways are opposed by the new ways.

This current opposition of Saturn and Uranus had its first pass on November 4 2008.  It will have 4 more passes,, taking us into mid 2010.

That first pass on November 4 was quite revealing as to what Saturn opposite Uranus really means in essence.

It was election day in America and John McCain was running against Barack Obama for President of the United States.  What a perfect archetypal battle between Saturn and Uranus.

Saturn is the old ways and Uranus is the new ways.   Saturn is ruler of Capricorn, the sign of the old man.   And Uranus is ruler of Aquarius, the New Age we are moving into.  How fitting:   McCain representing the old and passing America running against the Aquarian Rising candidate of hope and change, Barack Obama.

As we are inexorably moving into an Aquarian Age, it was quite fitting that Obama would win.

In 1987-88 at the conjunction of Saturn and Uranus, the Soviet Union began to break down and the first serious insurrection by the Palestinians against Israel began.    Uranus/ Saturn often represents liberation movements against authority.

The Soviet Union’s beginning breakdowns was mostly seen in its war against Afghanistan.  The mujahadeen, led by Osama Bin laden, was bringing great loss to the Soviet Union.  So in 1987-88 the Soviet Union began to withdraw from Afghanistan.    In the immediate years afterward, through 1991, the Soviet Union fell.    Afghanistan is known as a country that breaks down empires.

And in 1988 Osama Bin laden gave his group the name of Al Queda.

In 1987 there was the first real defiance of Palestinians against Israel. It was the first Intifada.

We can expect more “liberation movements” to happen in 2010 as the Saturn/Uranus opposition plays out.

Additionally Saturn will square Pluto in 2010.  The last time Saturn made a major aspect with Pluto was in 2001/2002, when they were opposed to one another. In fact in August 2001, less than a month before the tragedy of 9-11 in America, there was the first pass of Saturn opposite Pluto that time.

Saturn, as we aforementioned, represents structures and forms and authority. Pluto is the god of the underworld, of Hades.  He represents primal power, destruction of old forms and transformation.

So we can expect next year, 2010 to be a most explosive, intense and transformational year.   Old structures and ways. old systems of order will be challenged by powerful waves of change and transformation.

The world as we know it will be greatly challenged, and revolutionary energies will be wanting to break down the walls of the current world structures.  Many of these energies will appear as dark forces that will bring down the world as we know it.

We must be prepared to rebuild and make new institutions and systems.    2010 will bring powerful change and 2010-2020 are years of transformation into an Aquarian Age.

Astrology Forecast for September 13-19

Powerful planet Pluto, the god of deep transformation, went from retrograde to direct last Friday September 11, the anniversary of the tragedy in America.  In case you didn’t notice the Dow Jones stock market ended at 9605 on September 11 2009. It ended at 9605 on September 11 2001. That is really freaky and a sign from the Universe of going Full Circle.  It may also be a sign of warning.

This week there is the strong aspect of Saturn opposite Uranus on Tuesday the 15th of September.

On Sunday the 13th and Monday the 14th Moon will be in Cancer, which is a good couple of days to “veg out” and chill, to cuddle up and feel nurtured.

We already above gave you some info about Saturn opposite Uranus.  Its whole passage must be looked at, which is from November 2008 to July 2010.   Everything related to this aspect will play out during that time.

But just as the first pass, on November 4 gave us the election day contest between McCain and Obama, with many meaningful symbols connected to the Saturn/Uranus opposition, look for meaningful symbols surrounding this second pass on September 15.

Keep in mind that not every pass will have such obvious (to those who are looking) symbols as last November.  But look closely at events in the world to see themes of liberation, of breakthroughs into new realms, of old forms dying and revolutionary ones being born.

In your personal life look for what forms and structures are ready to released.  What forms or structures have outlived their use for you.   What new breakthroughs or ideas need to replace the old ones?  Are you ready to liberate your self from restrictive situations, from relationships or work situations that no longer work for you.

We are in the last quarter of the lunar cycle most of this week.  So it is time to slow down your energy output as much as possible and go inward to prepare for the New Moon.

Then on Friday is a New Moon in Virgo at 2:44 PM EDT.  It is time now to order your life, to fix what needs mending, to go to the dentist or health professional, to fix your car or appliances.  Virgo seeks to simplify, to make more humble.  It is a sign for letting go of big ego and to self improve by seeing your self as being of service to others, not to your own self alone.

Use this lunar month ahead to make your life more workable and efficient, without undue emotional drama.

See you next week,

Obama’s Aquarian Age Influence, Mercury Retrograde and Astrology Forecast for September 5-12

Posted in Weekly WorldView and Astrology forecast with tags , , , , , , , on September 5, 2009 by spiritualtherapy

by Leo Knighton Tallarico

This summer has sure shook up the status quo of our lives.   Much change has occurred in our personal lives and in the greater world.  As the dust begins to clear from those eclipse storms, we look at our lives through new and different lens.

This summer sure has brought significant change for the administration of President Obama.   His approval numbers were so high before summer began; and now according to recent polls, more people disapprove than approve of his job performance.

How is this possible?   Well on the surface all indications are that his Health Care Reform attempts have backfired on him.   Special interest big Corporations, like insurance companies, do not want this reform, especially the pubic option.   This public option will bring lower health insurance costs, which are meant to force insurance companies to lower their costs.     It is pretty obvious that the insurance companies would not want this.

And right wing talk shows have apparently really influenced the public against the health plan and Obama.  They are attempting to paint Obama as a socialist or communist, someone who would put Americans under government controls and take away their freedoms and rights.

Make no mistake about it, President Obama is an agent of change for America and the world.   This change is meant to happen, and he is the messenger and deliverer of the change.  Without him, however, the change would be represented by others.

We are dominated in America by a Military/Industrial complex, and have been for some time. President Eisenhower, a republican, warned that this complex would erode our individual freedoms away.

The real transformation taking place in America and the world is of this control by mega corporations, big government, and an extensive USA military presence all over the world.    This presence is backed by a massive amount of nuclear weapons.

In an Aquarian Age, which we are on the cusp of, the power is to the people- “of the people, by the people, and for the people.”  You may want to believe that is how our country is already working, but it is not.   The system we are run by, and the institutions that serve it, will be vastly transformed over the next several years.

Planetary revolution and human evolution will bring huge tides of change over the next several years.   What is coming will not be pure capitalism or pure socialism, but something beyond, something that serves humans all over the world better than it does now. And this wave of change will bring more equality of nations and peoples, a more fair way to distribute wealth.  There will be greater individual responsibility for our Earth and world, connected in de-centralized community with all other individuals.

Can you now imagine how much healing and transformation we have ahead of us?

And President Obama, so “out of the box” from all the anglo-saxon American presidents of the past, with African heritage, and a  Muslim sounding name, brings the first real tides of Aquarian change with him.

Our economy will not go back to how it was.  That system, which is meant to make the rich richer, which creates poor people, will perish.    How this all unfolds I do not completely know.

But I do know, with the astrological aspects from late 2009-2017, that we will be vastly changed by 2020, when the Aquarian Age emerges as Jupiter conjuncts Saturn at 0+ degrees of Aquarius.    We will have by then also passed through the Mayan New World beginning of 2012. And as we then look back at September of 2009 we will see it as long ago, because we will have changed so much.

And hopefully President Obama’s destiny will be to live until 2020 to see the new horizon.  But we all know that great men and women sometimes do not live to see what they have sacrificed for.

But for now do not worry about Obama’s approval numbers or conservative versus liberal wars.  What we are about to experience is beyond such nonsense.    We are witnessing the changing of Ages, the revolution and evolution of human beings on the Earth and in the Universe.

Astrology Forecast for September 5-11

The week begins as Mercury slows down into a stationary position before going retrograde.  This begins an overall week of shifting energies.  This is the first real shift since the eclipses passed earlier this summer.

Mercury Retrograde begins at 12:45 AM Eastern time on Monday the 7th and at 9:45 PM west coast time on Sunday the 6th.   Mercury Retrograde lasts until September 29 when it goes back direct again.  Mercury goes retrograde approximately every 4 months for around three weeks duration.  During its retrograde periods, our perceptions shift.

Mercury is the “ruling” planet of Gemini and Virgo, and it represents thinking and communication.    So during its retrograde phases, our thinking and communication skills go through changes.  Often these changes “creep up” on you, and you slowly begin to feel different or unusual-  in a new zone.   You look at things differently.    You go outside your usual left-brain mental boxes and see situations more imaginatively or creatively.

Sometimes events cause this change of perception, like communication mistakes or spacey thinking.  Some people believe that equipment, especially communication equipment like phones or computers, more often go haywire during Mercury Retrograde.

But no matter how your perception changes during Mercury Retrograde, and for some it is subtle, you do often feel like things are weird or in some kind of Twilight Zone of consciousness. The changing of your perceptions during Mercury Retrograde helps you to break down old ways of thinking , and to see issues in a whole new light.

And though Mercury retrograde can ultimately be helpful to your life overall ,  many who are aware of the cycles of Mercury Retrograde often say when it ends, “I am glad it is going back direct now!’

The Moon in Aries on Sunday and Monday will bring with it for many more motivation to act and to assert.  Things slow down on Tuesday and Wednesday as the Moon moves into slow and deliberate Taurus.    These are good days to be more into the physical side of life, especially that which brings you more comfort and security.

By Thursday, at the latest, the influence of Pluto going direct will manifest.   This aspect intensifies the energy field and the emotions.  Watch for shifting world events or nature’s power to be witnessed over the next few days.

Pluto actually stations and goes direct on Friday September 11.  It has been 8 years since the 9-11 tragedy in America.  Pluto is the planet of deep primal expression and transformation.  Those transformational powers which have been in abeyance since Pluto went retrograde in April 2009 begin to open up now.

Watch this autumn and winter, while Pluto is direct, for major world events that are transforming our lives. Look especially at the economy, which could drop down appreciably on its way to major transformation;  and at the Middle East and Iran which could be explosive.

Next week we will look at the Saturn/Uranus opposition, which show our struggle now between keeping things the same or making changes.

See you next week
